Submission

How detailed does the action plan need to be?

Please visit the submission form published on the website to see what you will be required to submit. Each question has an associated word limit. We are excited to see creative and detailed submissions from participants!

What is an example of a good action plan?

Action plans may take many shapes and sizes. All action plans will be evaluated according to the selection criteria published on the challenge website. For inspiration from past years, you can view the winners from last year’s Your Place in Space Challenge.

What counts as a visual representation of our project?

The submission form allows teams to share a visual asset of their choice to show what their solution will look like and how it will advance clean energy in their schools or communities. This may include, but is not limited to a 90-second video, a gallery of images, or a rendering of what your solution will look like. Teams will link to their visual asset in the submission form, and judges will be asked to view the visual asset as they review.

How can I find the correct category for my CTE program on the submission form?

Select the category or categories that most closely aligns with your class in accordance with the National Career Clusters Framework. If needed, you can select more than one category.   

What are the requirements for student hours on this project?

There are no specific time requirements for any team member on the project.

What are the costs and/or budgetary commitments associated with this challenge?

There are no costs or budget commitments required to enter the challenge. If selected as a winner, award recipients will be responsible for any applicable local, state, and Federal taxes, and reporting that may be required under applicable tax laws.

How can I get my students involved?

Students are invited to review the information on the challenge website or to watch the virtual information session recording after it is posted online. If needed, we have provided templates on how you can engage your students on the resources page

What accommodations are available for students with disabilities?

The Power Your Future Challenge welcomes submissions from groups that include all types of students, including those with disabilities. Teachers can adjust the submission development process as needed to best meet the needs of their students.

What are the career paths available to all students?

The National Career Clusters Framework outlines the career opportunities available in each career cluster.

How can we access the materials from today’s presentation?

All materials presented today, including the presentation, recording, and transcript will be uploaded to the about the challenge page.

I am not planning to submit an action plan. Can I still participate?
